SUBJECT: Fan Belt Adjustment

Whenever it is found necessary to adjust the fan belt on cars equipped with alternators, adjustment of the alternator must be carried out at the forward mounting flange in order to tension the belt.

In no case should the body or rear of the alternator be used when adjusting, otherwise severe bearing damage may occur.

Would you please bring this to the immediate attention of all Service Personnel.
