      Scott Woerth’s dad, Jack passed away this week. Funeral is 11AM Sat 2 Nov.

      John D. “Jack” Woerth, age 78, of Christiana, passed away at his home on Tuesday, October 29, 2013. He was born in Christiana on December 31, 1934. He was the son of the late John & Emily Pickell Woerth. He was the loving husband of E. Patricia (Sinclair) Woerth. They spent 59 years together and are survived by 4 children: Scott (Linda Stoltzfus) Woerth, Kimberly (Jerry) Bandy, Brian (Cheryn Heckel) Woerth, Lori (James) Wiggins. Their youngest Amy Jo is deceased. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren: Jessica Bandy, John Clayton (Lindsay Fisher) Bandy, Veronica (Brian) Mull, Jaclyn Woerth, Chelsea Woerth, Justin Woerth, Joel & Emily Wiggins, 2 great granddaughters: Eva Grace & Sarah Jordan Rose Bandy. He was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Feister. Jack founded Woerth’s Body Shop in the early 60’s in Nickel Mines and moved to a farm in Nine Points in 1967 where he established Woerth’s Used Cars. He still resided on the farm at the time of his death. He was a member of the Slumbering Ground Hog Lodge, Waterloo Boys, Rough & Tumble, Bart Twp. Fire Company where he was past president. He loved the quiet and beauty of his home called “Down the Hollow”. He also loved spending time at his log cabin home at Raystown Lake. His joys in life were his family, cars, tractors, bluegrass music, his horse Norman and his donkey Izzy. He was known to many for his kindness and helpfulness over his many years in business. A life celebration service will take place from the Shivery Funeral Home, 111 Elizabeth Street, Christiana, PA on Saturday, November 2nd at 11 a.m. with a open time to share memories of Jack. Pastor Blake Diebler will be officiating. There will be a time to visit with the family on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice & Community Care, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604 or to the American Heart Association, 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17603.

      Very sad to hear about this. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Woerth family.

      Plenty of good times and memories from when the B.A.S.H. was held there "Down the Hollow".
      We attended our 1st [ever] TE/AE event there in 1985…
