      Hi all,
I’m new here but have been around Rootes cars since buying a 2nd hand Alpine in 1982. It was rough at the time, but has since been fully restored. I have also owned a number of Hillmans including my current daily driver – a 1969 Hunter (with one owner before me). Some of you may have also seen the annual “Cars of the Rootes Group” calendars which I have been producing since 2007.

      Cheers,
      Vic Hughes, in Canberra, Australia

      Vic,
Welcome on board. Under the for sale items I put your calendar. I alreadygot notifiedthat mine were shipped. I am really looking forward to that.
Do you know a Roger Foote downunder, who owns two Venezias?
Post a picture of your Hunter here, since few people here do know that car.

      Robert,

Thanks, I hope you enjoy the calendars when they arrive. It was really good to be able to feature the Venezia in its anniversary year, thanks for your help.

Yes, I do know Roger although I have yet to see his Venezias. He lives in Sydney and I rarely seem to get there these days. He also has some other intersting cars like a Hillman Stilletto – a rare Australian convertible version of the Imp

I will put some pics of my Hunter up here, meanwhile, here is a link to a Flickr picture of it at British Car Day in Canberra last year
