Question on air cleaner

I need a air cleaner assembly that will fit under the hood. Something 2" in height or less.
Needs to fit over a holly 650 carb (5 1/8")

Any suggestions?

Use an Edelbrock Pro flow 1000 @ $16.00 at Jegs or Summit until you find an oval aluminum air cleaner similar to the original.
Karl’s Performance has an interesting air cleaner in their catalog but not on their website. Once the snow goes away I intend to travel yo check it out.

There are a lot of K/N filters that you can use , we are using a 9" one on the tiger with a F4B high rise manafold the only problem was the height we were able to re shape the bottom flange, for fit and get to fit under the stock hood "WITHOUT A SCOOP" if you talk to K/N they will also give you a formula for
the CFM that the particular motor will use and recommend the correct filter you can also use 10" round filter,generiac, Summit,Jegs etc we did this on the V8 Alpine with the single plane manifold you really do not need a oval filter , and I personally don’t like the Edlebrock filter kind of a cheezy deal. the filter we’re using is 2.187 tall by the way not including the base.

Here’s more info formula as follows pi times diameter times height times 6 equal’s cfm 1 square inch equal’s 4 cfm (KN)

I’m using a 2" filter… the air cleaner is patterned after a Summit one with a custom top…

Karl’s performance Des Moines Iowa has an aluminum oval 2 in element similar to Summit racing for about $50.

Karl’s Performance lists two air cleaners. one 12 in oval for $51 and a 15 in oval for $78 . To access the air cleaners, inside their website type in oval air cleaner in the search box.
