First tour – Armored Cav. Second tour – Transportation. That is duty that guaranteed that he would have been a primary target during both tours.
For any of you folks who have never served, Armored Cav means he rode around in a lightly armored troop carrier and got to jump out to engage the enemy. Because the APCs are relatively fast, it meant he usually got to the enemy first. In transportation, you jump out and engage the enemy after you hit one of their mines. With his Armored Cav experience, he was probably the "go to guy" within his transportation unit.
This guy earned every smile he will wear while driving his little British car.

A very nice Mk I Midget. I don’t think I have ever seen one of those. Notice, it does not have any roll-up windows or external door handles.

It is a lot like the 59 Austin Healey Sprite I had.
