A friend has a Series V Alpine with a very large gap between the top of the front tires and the fender. It looks like the car is ready to go into orbit.

He (and I) was wondering if there is a difference in Tiger and Alpine front springs, and if there is how do you tell without taking them out of the car.

Thanks as always for your expert input.

The Tiger springs are stiffer than Alpine springs because of the added weight of the V8. I saved a email somewhere that mentioned Tiger springs have a different color paint stripe versus a Alpine spring. Of course after 40+ years the paint is probably gone.
