  Well, I left the penetrating oil in the cylinders overnight, and was able to free the engine. Luckily it was hardly stuck. After a quick cleaning of the plugs, new points and an oil change, after 26 years, it fired right up. Boy did it sound good! Next step is to get it up into the air to assess the underside….

  That’s great!
  I had once a similar experience, however the oilfilter gaskets were deteriorated and oil went all over my neighbour in his good raincoat, who was watching. He just stepped by coming straight from his office. ….. Cost me a lot for the dry-cleaners.
