Depends on how scenic your intended path is. Even though I have overdrive I can be a bit of a slowpoke, so I’ll probably stay off the Turnpike for a scenic low-stress experience. Let me know your thoughts.

Participantfred,
your best route is I78 to I81 south to the turnpike. take the turnpike west to New Stanton and then follow I 70 west until you get to I 675 on the north side of Dayton. then go south on 675. get off at the exit for the NUTTER CENTER and you can see the hotel. -

"NUTTER CENTER" ??? is that for real, or another autocorrect problem 😀

Participantthe nutter center is part of wright state university. they have a lot of concerts and various shows in the arena. even the WWE has events there. capacity is just short of 11000 people. the group that tours under the name " history of the eagles" will be there on Wednesday prior to the united week. when I negotiated with the hotel they agreed to block off one of their larger lots for sunbeams and all tow vehicles and trailers but they also said that if we have a huge turnout of cars that we can move trailers to the nutter center lot if needed. it really does exist!

I think meeting at the Cracker Barrel is the best place to start. We will plan on being there at 9:00 on Thursday.

Sounds good, anyone wanting to join in along the way only has to figure the timing of our group to their area from our 0900 start at:
Cracker Barrel Old Country Store
Lamar Center
7720 Main St #19
Fogelsville, PA 18051Tom Hillmann

Or, would it be better to meet at the Cracker Barrel adjacent to the Cabella’s at exit 29 of I-78? We would probably pick up more travelers there than in Fogelsville.
But then those of us near the Fogelsville C.B could then travel to the Cabella C.B. for those coming from Lansdale and other areas near there.
Does this make sense?

How about a cell phone number list. If you don’t want yours advertised here then send it to me with your name and I’ll distribute it only to those in the caravan.

Hey fellow "Rooters". I posted this on the SAOCA Forum and was directed to the TE/AE site to assist in getting in a caravan to Dayton. Below is my message.
I will be leaving from the Gettysburg, PA area Thursday, July 30th enroute to Dayton. Just wondering if anyone else might be taking the route I’m driving and would like to meet up and caravan?
My route of travel will be:
Leaving Orrtanna, Pa around 7am. (Just west of Gettysburg)
Arriving in the area of the I70W/I76- PA Tpk at Breezewood around 8:30 am. Should be hitting Wolfsburg/I99 around 9 am. Continuing on I70/76, I should be arriving in Wheeling Wva area around 11. I will be staying on thI70 through Columbus to Fairborn.
So if anyone along that route wants to try and meet up, PM me and we can exchange cell numbers and talk about it.
Thanks,

We plan on meeting Jim Lindner at mile marker 147.3 on the turnpike at 11:00 A.M. If this fits in with your plans let us know. I can email a list of names and cell numbers.
The more the better!
