Is anyone else going to the Daytona Dream Cruise? I spoke to the promoter at a car show a few weeks ago and they already has over 900 cars pre-registered. For me, it will be a one day (Saturday) deal but it should be fun if the weather cooperates.

We did the Dream Cruise yesterday and it was an interesting day. It started out very British with mist and drizzle for the ride down A1A. It cleared up late in the morning and it was beautiful the rest of the day. NO RED TIDE!!!! For folks with automotive interests outside the Sunbeam world, there was a lot of everything. Muscle cars, hot rods, antiques were everywhere. Over 1,000 cars cruising between official and unofficial car shows. There was at least one other Tiger registered but we never saw it. We spent the majority of the day at Bellair Plaza and just watched the cars come and go.

This should definitely be an official regional event next year. It is not just another car show.

The ride home was a pain. We left about 5:00 and it took 2 1/2 hours to make an 85 mile drive. There was a wreck on I95 and we tested the cooling system to the max. The highway was closed and the poorly marked detour was a 1st gear experience. The old car did great and we enjoyed the adventure. All in all, a really fun day.
