I own a ’65 Tiger that resided in N. Carolina until 1986, then sat in a horse barn in College Station, Tx until 2019. Recently while ordering parts from Sunbeam Specialties, I was told the GT door panels and soft top storage I ordered were not correct for my VIN B9471368 LRXFE. However, my car does have doors that accomodate GT door panels, and that is what were on the car when I bought it last year. Further to that, I was told my car looks like an MK1 in front and MK1A in rear. The car is being prepped for paint and after being stripped to bare metal there is no evidence of any damage replacement sheet metal. The little I know about the car’s NC history is from Jeff Starling of Wilmington, NC who owned it from 1984 – 86. He mentioned one of the previous owners had replaced the 260 with a radical 289, added a roll bar and hood scoop and had raced the car. The previous owners according to Jeff are Michael Henderson of Wilmington and James Dean of Charlotte. I anyone knows this car, I would love to understand more of the car’s history. The color code for the car is 1 (black), but it has been painted white since at least the early ’80’s. I’ve added a couple of pics from the ’80’s and as I received it.
        Thanks, Chris

Get ahold of Rob Roy – senior TAC inspector in Fort Worth area – he should be able to help answer your questions and maybe you can get him to come down and take a look…
