Hi Owen-had an issue with mine recently, found the end was cracked (opposite the rear view mirror), replaced with a spare I had. The end on the visor with the flats should twist. Oiled up the end placed in a vice and worked the visor back and forth to free it up. Still stiff but stays in place.-Al
