Paul A,
The missing stock adapter (from block to oil filter) may be available from Ford. Failing that, find a scrap block at your local junk yard and apply brute force via a 1-1/4 inch hex and a very long bar. Do not let it slip!
As you probably know, there is a nice picture of the offending part on the front cover of Tom Monroe’s “How to Rebuild your SBF”.
Once you have this item you can fit the following parts (or similar) which use ½ inch NPT fittings:

Spin-on oil filter by-pass adapter

Remote oil filter bracket

The remote filter bracket can be mounted in the left front fenderwell just behind the headlight, or, IF you can find some space, in the engine bay.
I used the fenderwell. Naturally you will need to cut 2 holes in the inner fender panel doing it this way.
You can also incorporate an oil cooler into this system if required.
Fittings can be either push-on with worm drive hose clamps or the more expensive Aeroquip type.
Preferably use 5/8 inch I.D. braided oil hose to minimise any slight reduction in oil pressure.
