Hey guys,

Sorry to change the topic here………but I have to know more about that A/C under the trunk! Please give me some details or photos!

From what I can remember. The car had a under the dash evaporator/blower unit with controls. The compressor was mounted to the engine, of course. The condenser was not mounted in front of the radiator though. Was a large condenser mounted under the rear of the car with long hoses connecting everything. I believe this was done due to space and cooling issues.

Good morning: I bought the V8 Alpine from Ed a couple of years ago. The AC setup uses a condenser in front of the radiator as well as the under trunk condenser. The two are linked via hoses. The setup is very effective. When I asked Ed why he added the 2nd condenser under the trunk he said it was to avoid excessive head pressure. I have not tried to use the AC with the rear condenser only. It probably would work OK as long as the car was in motion. Without the motion of the car to remove the heat from the rear condenser I think the efficiency of the setup would be greatly reduced. Send me your email address and i can send you some pics.
